Nu Wa, the Goddess of Creation, oils on 8" x 10" primed wooden panel

Piece for my online art collective (Star Dust Art Collective) auction for the month of August. Theme was Legends + Mythology. I decided on this character from the Chinese creation mythology as Nu Wa, together with Pan Gu, were the 2 mythological characters I was first introduced to when I was a kid by my mother. In the mythology, Nu Wa created humans from mud. I decided to portray these as pottery beings adorned with the colorful and doodly style of swatow ware (paying homage to my Teochew roots).
